Ok, not to get too deep on you guys on only my second post, but this is such an inspiring and moving video. Cool part for me is that it was filmed on my campus! Neil Gaiman was at my school! How cool is that? If only I would have known before filming. My inner fourth grader would have come out and fangirled at him for writing Coraline. Amazing, inspiring, and just so gosh darn cool.

Something Inspiring
Ok, not to get too deep on you guys on only my second post, but this is such an inspiring and moving video. Cool part for me is that it was filmed on my campus! Neil Gaiman was at my school! How cool is that? If only I would have known before filming. My inner fourth grader would have come out and fangirled at him for writing Coraline. Amazing, inspiring, and just so gosh darn cool.
What Is This All About?
I'm Aislinn. Everything I've typed (and backspaced about a hundred times) in this post about me and what this blog will be about has sounded like an attempt at an eighth grade "About the Author" page. I admit, I'm not new to this whole writing thing, but it makes me nervous that something is going to be so permanent. And I want it to sound professional and perfect. Did I mention I'm a perfectionist? Yeah. It's a problem. I'm working on it.
Anyway, I decided to just bite the bullet and write this first post like an eighth grade "About the Author" page because who didn't love eighth grade?
I'm 20 years old and am studying Communication and Journalism at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. I'm from Wisconsin and I'll always love Milwaukee, but for the time being, the Twin Cities are a pretty cool place to explore. I always return to Milwaukee for my summers because I'm in love (and when I say in love, I mean full on head over heels in love to the point of obsession) with hurling. Yeah, you thought I was going to say a boy, there's one of those too, but my love for Milwaukee is because of the Milwaukee Hurling Club. Just so happens that I met this oh-so-special boy of mine in the MHC, another reason it is so special to me.
Hurling? What is that, you ask? Oh it's just the coolest sport in the entire world. (Seriously, go check it out right here). You thought it was awesome, right? It is. And it is so much more fun to play.
So now that you know I love hurling, you should also know that I'm just a fitness freak. I love running, skating (I play hockey too), jumping, lifting, yoga, Pilates, anything that gets me moving. I'm in the process of training for my first marathon! So scared, but it will be quite the accomplishment!
I'm not just a sporty girl, of course. I have many facets! And that is where this blog comes in..I love beauty and fashion. I'm a tough girl on the pitch/ice/road, but catch me out of training gear and I love girly things of all kinds. Makeup, fashion, magazines, you name it and I love it.
I worry too much about little things. I eat too many Dove Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds. I drink too many Hot Cinnamon Spice teas. I'm a hoarder of beauty products. I'm a bit of a shopaholic. I disappear into books. I'm a sucker for anything romantic. And my heart melts at the mention of weddings. I'm a hopeless romantic for life. And I hope that's what this blog will be. A bit of chocolate, a hint of fashion, and a whole lot of love.
Up first is a little Outfit Of The Day (OOTD from now on).
Yup I took a mirror selfie. You can laugh at me now.
The top is from Loft and I've got a bit of a recent obsession with Loft. Their spring line is so...springy! There are so many colors I want in my closet after a winter full of neutrals and black (obviously didn't go with color today haha). The shirt has a cool neckline that my hair is covering, but it's got a boat neck shape and its very comfortable and classy.
The bottoms are just a basic black jean from Kohls. Basics are my saviors. I pair everyday essentials with a fun scarf or a different hair style in the hopes that it dresses it up.
Shoes are from Target. I believe these came out in the fall. They're the Tuxedo Flats. They're not the most comfortable shoe, but gosh darn it they're cute so I suffered today. And yes, Minnesota still has snow on the ground, but I wanted to wear these shoes today because they pulled together my whole look.
Keep checking back for whatever new post I'll have up next! Could be a fitness post, a food post, a makeup post..who knows!? That's the fun thing, it'll always be a surprise for the both of us.
In the hopes that someone read this, have a fabulous day.
